Countryside Stewardship and Rural Development Schemes

Countryside Stewardship applications undertaken, this scheme has replaced Environmental Stewardship (Entry and Higher level)

“Countryside Stewardship (CS) provides financial incentives for land managers to look after their environment through activities such as:

  • conserving and restoring wildlife habitats
  • flood risk management
  • woodland creation and management
  • reducing widespread water pollution from agriculture
  • keeping the character of the countryside
  • preserving features important to the history of the rural landscape
  • encouraging educational access”

We have assisted clients in preparing successful applications under the previous Entry level and Higher level scheme and the current Countryside Stewardship Scheme.

We have also made successful applications for capital funding through the Rural Development Program (LEADER).

Through this scheme “grants are available to support activities that will make a contribution to growing the rural economy, such as creating new jobs, growing businesses, increasing tourism and heritage visitors or providing new services in rural areas”.
